I'm always looking for interesting (and inexpensive) ideas for headboards. Inspired by an art idea featured in Better Homes and Gardens: 100 Decorating Ideas under $100 (Summer 2010) and the subtle polka dot pattern of our duvet cover, I came up with this headboard for the master bedroom. For this $20 project, I used three 14"wooden quilt hoops, one 18" wooden hoop, and one 23" hoop. I only used the center portions of each hoop and painted them with a nice acrylic. After determining my arrangement, I hot-glued the hoops together using clamps or clothespin to secure it while it dried.
